Expect multiple new offers to start going out as the coaches hit the road for spring evaluations. In fact over the past 24 hours we have seen this take place as the Sooners have offered 3 players from an area that is in the unfamiliar recruiting territory of Maryland and Virginia.

1. Patrick Johnson III 6-0/180 from Potomac, Maryland

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Blessed to receive an offer from Oklahoma <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Sooners?src=hash">#Sooners</a> ⚪️ <a href="http://t.co/qVSLiPHhyv">pic.twitter.com/qVSLiPHhyv</a></p>&mdash; Patrick Johnson II (@PjohnsonII) <a href="https://twitter.com/PjohnsonII/status/589586367392436224">April 19, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

OFFERS: Boston College, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Mich. St., UNC, NC State, Rutgers, VTech, Wisconsin, and the Sooners.

Johnson is an intriguing prospect who possesses the size to be a natural at corner back. One would think that the Sooners would be a good fit, if he is willing to leave home.

2. Trevon Diggs 6-0/170 from Gaithersburg, MD

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>I Have Received an offer from the University Of Oklahoma for DEFENSIVE BACK <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/SoonerNation?src=hash">#SoonerNation</a> first BIG 12 offer. <a href="http://t.co/sT4FepQB8Y">pic.twitter.com/sT4FepQB8Y</a></p>&mdash; Mr.DIGGS (@TrevonDiggs) <a href="https://twitter.com/TrevonDiggs/status/589772069249908736">April 19, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

OFFERS: Bama, Auburn, Clemson, UF, LSU, Maryland, Miami, UNC, Rutgers, Tennessee, VTech, and the Sooners.

Diggs is ultra-talented and interestingly enough the Sooners have offered him as a defensive back, although his position in high school is WR. Further most schools are recruiting him at WR as well. The Sooners will face some stiff competition for Diggs, as his older brother is currently at WR at Maryland.

3. Patrice Rene 6-2/195 from Alexandria, VA.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Honored to say that I received and offer from the University of Oklahoma!! <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/BoomerSooner?src=hash">#BoomerSooner</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Big12?src=hash">#Big12</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/OU?src=hash">#OU</a> <a href="http://t.co/O20pacA97T">pic.twitter.com/O20pacA97T</a></p>&mdash; Patrice Rene (@PatriceRene6) <a href="https://twitter.com/PatriceRene6/status/589964287529119745">April 20, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

OFFERS: Boston College, Duke, Maryland, UNC, Northwestern, Ohio St., Penn St., Pitt, Rutgers, Syracuse, Tennessee, Vandy, VTech, Wake Forest, and the Sooners.

The Sooners are definitely a big time offer for Rene. With his size, I could see him more easily at safety rather than corner back.
