On Friday night a reporter asked Sheldon Neuse about his final at bat in Oklahoma's 6-3 loss to Purdue. Oklahoma's sophomore shortstop looked away for a second and then answered the question. 'I just swung right through it," he said as he described his third strike that ended and left the bases loaded.
On Saturday Neuse went back to home plate and took out his frustrations. A 4-for-4 day with three runs scored, including a solo home run, and two RBI were products of his wrath. The Sooners jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first, added two more in the second and one in the third to lead the Boilermakers 6-0. They didn't look back from there and evened the series, at a game each, with a convincing 7-1 win.
Oklahoma starter Alec Hansen threw seven scoreless innings and registered eight strikeouts to pick up his second win of the season and force a game three rubber match on Sunday.
