Elliott struck out ten Purdue batters in six innings of work but was victim to some timely hits and a barrage of bunts that Oklahoma couldn't turn into outs. Neuse drove in OU's first run of the game but missed out on a golden opportunity when he struck out, to end the ninth, with the bases loaded.

* Junior outfielder Craig Aikin went 2-for-4 from the plate to extend his hitting streak to 10 games.
* Jake Elliott struck out ten batters marking the eight time in the last ten games that Oklahoma pitchers have reached that mark.
* The Sooners turned their 17th double play of the season Friday night which is tops in the NCAA
* Sheldon Neuse knocked in Josh Ake in the sixth inning to record his 18th RBI of the season which is the most in the Big 12.
