JUCO DB Visiting Sooners this Weekend

JUCO DB Maurice Chandler 6-1/190 will be visiting the Sooners this weekend. Chandler is an interesting prospect who was a star in the class of 2013 but failed to qualify. Coming out of high school he had offers from ASU, KState, Oregon State, and TTech. However he failed to qualify and ended up at Northeastern Oklahoma Junior College in Miami, Oklahoma where has starred for the Norsemen.

Chandler has started to see his recruiting once again take off as he has picked up offers from ASU, Nebraska, Toledo, Utah, Utah St., and Washington St.

Chandler's visit to Norman has to cast some doubt on the abilities of the upperclassmen in the Sooners defensive backfield. While Chandler has yet to pick up a Sooner offer, there is no denying his talent. Further it would be a safe assumption that the Sooners would all but vault to the top of Chandler's list should an offer take place. Lastly with the recruitment of a player like Chandler, the Sooners have to believe that an infusion of talent is necessary, which if you watched last years defense this would be obvious. Chandler appears to fit that need for upperclassmen talent.
