2016 QB and Mustang High School product Chandler Garrett was invited to this weekend's Junior Day.
Bob Pryzbolo of Scout.com confirmed it via twitter.
#OKPreps (Mustang) QB Chandler Garrett (@CSG_11) says he has been invited to #Sooners Jr day tonight by Lincoln Riley

I don't believe that Garrett's invite is necessarily a signal that the Sooners are out for their number 1 target at the position in Dwayne Haskins, but rather is a backup plan should Haskins decide elsewhere.
For those of you wondering what type of player Garrett is, check out his film below.
Here are my initial thoughts on the film.
1. Garrett is a much better athlete than I had given him credit for.
2. His throwing motion is a little off. I can't quite put my finger on it, but I don't feel he gets the full capacity of his arm strength with his throwing motion.
3. I believe that he trusts his athleticism more than he needs too. In some of those highlight, I think he missed wide open throws, because he knew he could scramble.
4. I wouldn't be disappointed if he were the QB in the class of 2016, but he is clearly a step down from Haskins.
