We will have much more in the way of post game coverage, but here are some quick thoughts on the Sooners loss to Michigan State.
1. Buddy Hield had a great 1st half, but he was not nearly as consistent as he needed to be. He had 21 points on 17 shots. It will be interesting to see if he turns pro. Personally he needs another year.
2. The Sooners are going to miss TaShawn Thomas next year. He went 16 and 7 tonight.
3. Frank Booker is definitely one of the most polarizing players on the team. His shot selection was beyond poor tonight.
4. Bench points tonight- 3 - Not good enough
5. The announcers were um how do I say it......beyond awful, atrocious, and disgusting. CBS should be ashamed of themselves. Verne Lundquist was unbearable. I could keep going, but if I never hear him on a broadcast again it will be too soon.
6. Everyone says Izzo is such a great coach, but what I saw tonight was a team who hit 3s and nothing else. Louisville will kill Sparty.
7. Isaiah Cousins play was not good. 5 points on 2-8 shooting.
8. I will no longer celebrate Valentine's day thanks to the play of Michigan State guard Denzel Valentine.I apologize to my wife in advance.
9. The Sooners missed a chance to stop the Michigan State 3 point onslaught. They should have fouled Costello and Shilling for the last 3 minutes of the game.
10. Congrats to this Sooner team. Lon Kruger has the Sooners moving in the right direction and I fully expect deeper runs than the Sweet 16 in the future.
