Sooners 2016 QB Recruiting Board

A disclaimer before this post. I am not a QB coach, nor do I claim to be in a position to be able to evaluate talent better than college coaches. This post is simply my belief on who would rank highest on the Sooners quarterback recruiting board for the class of 2016.

1. KJ Costello 6-4/220 (OU OFFER)

The Sooners have no shot at Costello who should be all accounts be a USC Trojan or Stanford Cardinal. That being said, he would sit at the top of any school's recruiting board.

2. Austin Kendall 6-3/200 (OU OFFER)

Kendall just finished his visit in Norman yesterday and was offered by the Sooners. He appears to be down to OU and Kentucky. He is an elite player and would be an amazing QB for the class of 2016.

3. Dwayne Haskins 6-2/190 (OU OFFER)

Don't let the fact that I have him ranked as number 3 on the board be taken as any slight to Haskins. He is an elite talent, that should visit the Sooners before he makes his decision. The only thing that could throw a wrench into that would be if Kendall committed to the Sooners.

4. Nick Starkel 6-4/190 (NO OU OFFER AS OF YET)

While Starkel is the first quarterback on my list to not have an offer, there is so much to like on his film. While he needs to add strength, he has some of the biggest upside in the class of 2016.

5. Woody Barrett 6-3/220 (OU OFFER)

Woody is a superb athlete with a big time arm. Don't take his ranking at number 5 as any slight to him. He is a really really good football player.

6. Chandler Garrett 6-4/220 (NO OU OFFER AS OF YET)

Garrett has a lot of tools to work with and is a much better athlete than many give him credit for. I think in time he could be a solid quarterback at the FBS level, but he would have to be given time to properly develop.

7. Augie DeBiase 6-1/220 (NO OU OFFER AS OF YET)

DeBiase has visited the Sooners twice and would by all accounts jump on a Sooner offer. He is talented, but in my opinion a step below the other 6 quarterbacks.
