The Sooners caught a break on Saturday evening when the top seed in the East, Villanova, went down in flames. In my opinion, this makes Virginia the most dangerous team left in this part of the bracket and that's most likely who OU will face if they get past Dayton...which is the first order of business for them today.
Along with Oklahoma, Kansas and West Virginia are pushing for a spot in the Sweet 16 today as well. It would be a major boost for the conference to land all three after the disastrous start the Big 12 had on Thursday.
Game | Time | Where To Watch |
#7 Wichita State vs. #2 Kansas | 4:15 (CT) | CBS |
#11 Dayton vs. #3 Oklahoma | 5:10 (CT) | TNT |
#5 West Virginia vs. #4 Maryland | 7:40 (CT) | TNT |
Yes, the Sooners have to play Dayton in Columbus, Ohio. Yes, that was a mistake by the selection committee by rewarding an 11th seed so close to home. No, it isn't an excuse for Oklahoma to lose. If they can beat the Pokes in Stillwater then they for dang sure better be able to beat the Flyers in Columbus.
Outside of OU, how can you not be excited about the rivalry games with the other two Big 12 schools?
We'll have a thread up for the OU game about an hour before tip. Until then, make this your place to talk about the action.
