Oklahoma Sooners Football / Cody Thomas to Give Up Baseball to Focus on Playing QB for Sooners

This is big news on the eve of National Signing Day as Sooners QB Cody Thomas will forego playing baseball this year to focus on winning the starting quarterback job.

The Oklahoma Football twitter account confirmed the decision.

While obviously a loss for the baseball team, this is a huge shot in the arm (pun intended) for the Sooner football team. While many forget, Cody Thomas was a high 4 star recruit that had offers from Auburn, Florida, LSU, USC, Notre Dame, and Alabama.

With Lincoln Riley now coaching quarterbacks, I believe that Cody Thomas has the best skill set to take the reigns as the starting quarterback for the Sooners.

Lincoln Riley just got another tool to work with on a full-time basis.
