UPDATE 9:15 PM - The Sooners were strong from the mound in their first two games of the season but that certainly wasn't the case on Saturday night when they fell to Notre Dame by a score of 10-9. Starter Alec Hansen was rocked for six runs, off six hits, in his three innings of work and Blake Rogers wasn't any better after giving up 4 runs in three innings.
Trailing 10-3 at the start of the seventh, Oklahoma started a rally that fell just shy. The Sooners posted three runs in that frame and then four more in the ninth to pull to within a single run. Alex Wise continued his hot start to the season by going 3-of-4 from the plate with a home run and three total runs scored. Kolby Carpenter also went yard, in what was Oklahoma's best offensive performance of the young season, but it wasn't enough to overcome the poor start from the mound.
The Sooners and Irish will play the rubber match on Sunday at Noon and then Southern Illinois-Edwardsville at 4:00 PM
