It's time to come out of mourning from the Jerry Montgomery departure news. It was obviously a tough blow to the Sooner football team, but today steps were taken to rectify the coaching vacancy left by Montgomery's departure. Bob Stoops interviewed Mike Pelton today.

Who is Mike Pelton?
He is the current Defensive Line Coach for Georgia Tech. He has also coached at Auburn, Vanderbilt, Iowa State, Troy, and Valdosta State. He was a standout defensive tackle for Auburn and was drafted in the 5th round by the Kansas City Chiefs.
He is a native of Goshen, Alabama.
His claim to fame was coaching both Demarcus Ware and Osi Umenyiora will at Troy. Not a ton is known about his recruiting abilities, but he has coached at some very high levels, has proved that he can develop players, and has obvious ties to the Southeast.
