Oklahoma's 2016 baseball season is still two months away from getting underway, but on Monday two Sooners were awarded preseason All-American honors by Collegiate Baseball News/Louisville Slugger.
Neuse, who was also a Freshman All-American, in 2013 has now been named as a preseason All-American for the second consecutive season. Last season, Oklahoma's shortstop batted .275 with 6 home runs and 43 RBI. At the conclusion of the season he was named All-Big 12 First Team for the second year in a row.
Hansen was an all conference honorable mention last season but will enter 2016 as a first round prospect for the summer MLB draft. A right handed hurler for the Sooners, Hansen will be Oklahoma's ace this season after fanning 94 batters and managing a 3.95 ERA in 2015.
Both players have previously been drafted with Neuse being selected by the Rangers, out of high school, in the 38th round of the 2013 draft, and Hansen being chosen by the Rockies in the 13th round that same year.
The Sooners will start their 2016 baseball season by hosting Northeastern on February 19th.
