There is so much to digest in this game, and we will discuss them in depth, but the Sooners held off the improbable comeback of TCU by a score of 30-29.
The big storyline of this game is the status of Baker Mayfield. The Heisman trophy candidate led the Sooners to a halftime lead of of 23-7, before being held out in the 2nd half. The Sooners were only able to score on one long Samaje Perine touchdown in the 2nd half. TCU found some success on a Sooners defense that was beyond gassed, but somehow they found a way to win. Here are some quick post game thoughts on the game.
1. Baker Mayfield
He is the absolutely heart and soul of this team. The targeting penalty on TCU did more than end Mayfield's night, it put the entire Sooners team into a funk they nearly almost didn't get out of. His health next week will be be a huge storyline.
2. Samaje Perine
I can't say enough about him. He finished the game with 26 carries for 188 yards and a TD. That TD was a 72 yard run on a heavily taped ankle. He was an absolute workhorse and star.
3. Baker Mayfield Scrambling
He makes incredible plays with his feet, but he HAS to learn when to stop trying to extend plays and live to play another day.
4. Sterling Shepard
I wish this wasn't Senior Night. His impact throughout his career as a Sooner has been incredible. Also this happened tonight.
Beautiful moment as The Boz hands Sterling a 1985 autographed team photo, which included his dad. pic.twitter.com/dlnR4i7NG3

5. Charles Tapper
His draft stock is going through the roof as he has saved his best for last. Another great game, even though he was clearly tired at the end of the game.
6. The Sooners survived today. They need to get healthy for next week and come ready to compete against the Pokes in Stillwater.
7. Not sure what a win would do for the Sooners and the playoff but with Ohio State losing today, and several big match-ups left (ND/Stanford, Iowa/MSU, and all the upsets you never know)
What did you think of the Sooners win in Norman?
