Buddy Hield's 24-Points Leads Sooners Over McNeese State, 85-56 Final

Rob Ferguson-USA TODAY Sports

The Oklahoma Sooners cruised to an 85-56 victory over the McNeese State Cowboys in front of a home crowd on Friday night. Buddy Hield led the way once again with 24 points before sitting the final fifteen minutes of the contest. With the output, the senior and reigning conference player of the year now averages 27 points per outing.

While McNeese State proved to be outmatched, Jamaya Burr collected 11 points leading the way for the Cowboys. On the other end of the court, Rashard Odomes showcased a bit of the potential he possesses. The left handed slasher from Texas poured in fifteen points. It's easy to see why the freshman could become the face of the Sooners in the near future. Matching the effort, Isaiah Cousins added another fifteen points of his own.

Throughout the match up, Lon Kruger made multiple substitutions as the head coach continues to figure out the best rotation. In all, ten players scored for Oklahoma building a 36 point lead in the second half. Clearly there is a bit of work to be done as OU shot an unimpressive 46.2% from the free throw line.

Next up, the Oklahoma Sooners play host to Incarnate Word on November 24th.
