Post Game Thoughts on Sooners 98-76 Win Over MACU

Mark Konezny-USA TODAY Sports

The Mid America Christian University Evangels traveled a few miles south to Norman tonight to take on the Sooners in Norman. In a crazy up and down game that featured very little defense, the Sooners prevailed 98-76. Here are several post game thoughts on the Sooners final exhibition game before the big showdown on the road against Memphis.

1. Jamuni McNeace is a force in the middle. He gives the Sooners size on the interior that they have lacked in the past few. His future is incredibly bright.

2. The athleticism and depth on this team is far greater than its been in Lon Kruger's tenure. The ability to have a bench that features Christian James, Rashard Odomes, and Dante Buford is a luxury that few teams in the Big 12 teams will have.

3. Buddy Hield appears to be much more comfortable handling the ball, which should pay dividends moving forward.

4. C.J. Cole is like the poor man's Ryan Spangler. I am hoping he gets the chance to infuriate several Big 12 teams with hustle plays, put backs, and aggressive play.

5. Speaking of Ryan Spangler, his arm tattoo has seemingly increased his ability to hit an outside shot.

6. This team will be FUN to watch this season.

7. Maybe I'm crazy, but the Sooners can challenge the Jayhawks this season. If not this season, then when.
