Who Might Be the Next Class of 2016 Commitment?

This time of the year is kinda the calm before the storm in recruiting. The Sooners sit at 12 commitments and will look to close with an additional 8-10 players in the class of 2016. With that in mind here is a look several players that could be on the radar as the next commitment for this class.

1. 3* DB Baylen Buchanan 5-11/187 from Suwanee, GA.

The Sooners are quietly building a bunch of momentum for Buchanan who is currently committed to Louisville. Buchanan recently visited the Sooners and by all accounts had a great visit. He is also a former teammate of Sooners left tackle Orlando Brown.

There is one potential roadblock, but this appears to be slowly fading. Baylen Buchanan's father Ray, was a standout at Louisville. That being said, I fully expect Buchanan to commit to the Sooners, quite possibly even over the next few weeks.

2. 4* DL Chris Daniels 6-3/300 from Euless, TX.

The Sooners have been a constant for Daniels throughout his recruitment. Daniels appears to be down to OU, A&M, and possibly TCU/Michigan, but even A&M and Daniels have seemingly began to part ways. There is no denying Daniels talent, as he has offers from coast to coast. He should be visiting the Sooners for the TCU game, but it wouldn't shock me to see Daniels jump on board sooner rather than later.

3. 3* RB Trevor Speights 5-9/195 from McAllen, TX.

Speights visited the Sooners last weekend and had the opportunity to watch the Sooners destroy the Red Raiders. I thought there would be a good chance the Sooners would receive a commitment from him over the weekend, but it sounds like he will take a few additional visits. I do believe the Sooners are in the driver's seat for Speights, but if history is any indication with the Sooners running back recruiting in the class of 2016, Speights might want to jump on board quickly. If you remember the Sooners moved on from Devwah Whaley because he was seemingly dragging his feet.
