In what is shaping up to be one of the busiest recruiting weekends of the year, the Sooners find themselves in a really solid position with 2 prospects in the class of 2016. They are 3 star Running Back Trevor Speights 5-9/195 and 3 star JUCO OT Ashton Julious 6-8/330.
Speights is literally destroying the competition as he has amassed an astounding 1,932 rushing yards and 30 TDs through 7 seven games. Speights is by all accounts down to OU, A&M, and Stanford, with the Aggies and Sooners pulling away from the pack. Something tells me a commitment from Speights to the Sooners is a high probability this weekend.
Julious would fill a big need along the offensive line for the Sooners. He would slot in very nicely at right tackle next season, allowing the Sooners to move Samia inside to right guard. The Sooners have some stiff competition for Julious in Florida and South Carolina, but I expect Julious to be a Sooner, and quite possibly even this weekend.
Speights and Julious will be joined by several other star studded prospects in Norman this weekend. Here are just a few of the prospects that will be in Norman this weekend.
4* LB Bryce Youngquist 6-2/210 (OU Commit)
4* ATH Clifford Chattman 6-4/180 (Possible) LSU COMMIT
I expect Bledsoe to eventually be a Sooner, but not this weekend. Duvernay is a longshot (he appears locked in to Baylor), and Chattman is a mystery.
It wouldn't be shocking to see several additional class of 2016 players show up this weekend, as recruiting is always in a state of flux.
