This Week's Picks
Donnie
Memphis over Tulsa 38-35. The dream season for Memphis continues but they fail to cover on the road against Tulsa.
KSU over Texas 31-21. Yes the Wildcats were miserable last week and the Longhorns beat the Sooners, but Texas still has a long way to go to be back and KSU isn't as bad as they were last week.
Bama over Tennessee 37-21. Neither team looks great and the Tide score late to cover and let the score look more respectable.
Rich
Clemson (-6.5) vs Miami - The half points always scare me but this is a top ten program in the country right?
Tulsa (+10.5) vs Memphis - Riding a 13 game winning streak, the Tigers look good. However, I'm not so sure the streak continues against a strong Tulsa offense.
Alabama (-15.5) vs Tennessee - Derrick Henry can carry the load at home against the Vols. I just do see Tennessee mustering up enough offense to keep up with the Tide this Saturday.
Caymen
Clemson - "Clemsoning" is dead according to head coach Dabo Swinney. I believe him. You know what coach I don't believe in? Al Golden. I'll take the Tigers to win by at least a touchdown.
Toledo - I know this isn't the most marquee of match ups, but the Rockets might run the table. I don't think UMASS will get in the way of that, or get even close to beating them.
Oklahoma - When in doubt, homer your way out. All the spreads are spot on this week so I might as well take Oklahoma (2-0 when I've taken them so far this season). I'm counting on Austin Seibert to turn a 14 point win into a 17 or 20 point win.
Joey
Oklahoma (-14.5) vs Texas Tech - If Oklahoma is up to be pick"d, I'm pick'n 'em. Sooners by 3 touchdowns
Memphis (-10.5) at Tulsa - Ever since being out scored by the Sooners, the wheels are falling off Tulsa. In a game I'll be attending, Memphis wins by at least 14
Florida State (-5.0) at Georgia Tech - Georgia Tech has not been good since losing to Notre Dame. I'm not high on FSU but I think they'll win by at least 7.
SaintSooner
Holy Toledo! I'm taking the Rockets to cover the 14.5 over the UMass Minutemen. I know basically nothing about either team, except that 1) Toledo is in Ohio and UMass is somewhere in Massachusetts, and 2) this game has more interesting implications than...
...Auburn v. Arkansas. You remember how ridiculously highly ranked these two teams were just a few short weeks ago? It's as if sports reporters aren't actually psychic or something. I'll go with the Hogs to cover because they're at home and Auburn's got... issues... at quarterback.
For dessert, I'm looking at the Memphis/Tulsa game. Justin Fuente's boys have been a pleasant surprise this season; conversely, Tulsa knows how to put points up on the board. I'm actually going to pick the Golden Hurricane against the 10.5 spread.
Matt
Boston College (+8) at Louisville - I like defense on the road and that's exactly what Boston College brings. I say they not only cover but pull the upset as well.
Duke (+2) at Virginia Tech - Speaking of defense, holy cow! The Blue Devils are allowing opponents an average of just 9.3 points per game. I'll take them for the upset please.
Toledo (-14.5) at UMASS - I guess I have to pick a favorite at some point. The Rockets are averaging 34.7 points per game and UMass is giving up 37.7 points per game. That spells certain doom for the home team.
