Coming off a blowout loss to the Clemson Tigers in the Russell Athletic Bowl and 8-5 season, Oklahoma Sooners fans took to social media to express their displeasure with the current coaching staff. Calling for heads to roll, I'm not sure many expected what is currently unfolding. According to Dean Blevins...yes, Dean Blevins, a member of the media with credibility issues...Mike Stoops is set to interview for the LSU Tigers defensive coordinator position.
BREAKING: I've learned that OU defensive coordinator Mike Stoops will interview with coach Les Miles & LSU #Sooners http://t.co/vdU2VQi5sU

Les Miles must eye a new assistant coach with the departure of John Chavis to Texas A&M. Part of the reason for Chavis' move came down to money. Offered $1.3M to stay, Kevin Sumlin and the Aggies reportedly offered the magic number of around $1.7M to Chavis who accepted.
Now, with the sights apparently set on M. Stoops, the Oklahoma defensive coordinator could stand to take a bump up in pay assuming the same offer stands.
John Chavis, the former LSU DC, was scheduled to make $1.3 million this season I believe. Mike Stoops made $850,000 last year.

Moving to LSU would mean bump in pay for Mike Stoops, but my somewhat educated guess is his jump would be more to take heat off Bob.

Regardless of what transpires in Dallas, TX tonight when M. Stoops and Miles meet, one member of the media feels as though Mike would have parted ways with his brother, Bob, in the end.
Have been hearing Mike Stoops is almost certainly gone one way or another. But didn't think LSU was in play, as Dean Blevins reports. Hmm...
