Scott Loiseau has joined the Oklahoma baseball coaching staff and now all four coaches for OU have head coaching experience at the collegiate level. Losieau joins the Sooners from Southern New Hampshire University where he had been the skipper since 2009. During that time he built a 176-121-2 (.592) career record but was also 119-48 (.713) mark over the last three seasons.
"We walked into a great situation," Oklahoma head coach Pete Hughes said on Friday. "Our team lost a great guy and the timing is never right in this profession. We got a candidate that we didn't think we were able of attracting for this position; especially in January. Scott was one of the premier Division II coaches in the country."
Loiseau collected both the NCBWA East Region and Northeast-10 Coach of the Year in 2014. He was previously recognized with the ACBA East Region Coach of the Year award in 2012. His primary responsibility at Oklahoma will be to serve as the recruiting coordinator.
