With injuries to star players on both sides of the ball, the Oklahoma Sooners welcomed an off week before making back-to-back trips to the DFW Metro. This week, good news quickly meets bad news for OU as the game against the TCU Horned Frogs likely results in a score too close for comfort.
- The Sooners continue to press on without versatile running back, Keith Ford who was sidelined due to a fractured non-weight bearing bone. After sitting out against West Virginia, the Oklahoma faithful hoped to see Ford return to the field this coming Saturday as the estimated recovery time sat at 2-3 weeks. Now, all eyes once again shift back to the powerful true freshman Samaje Perine.
- Zack Sanchez continuously shows signs of dealing with his shoulder injury. The matter played out as the cornerback met a physical Kevin White time and time again in a game Sanchez called "the worst game [he's] ever played." Regardless, this kid has recorded an interception in each game this season. The off week clearly helped Sanchez in the best way possible saying, "Right now it feels good, it's felt the best since the injury. It's progressively getting better. It's a muscle injury, so it's going to be nagging. It's going to be a lot better than it has been the last two weeks."
There is no denying Oklahoma needs these two players on the field if the hope of making the first ever college playoff is to become a reality.
