Before the season began, running back DeMarco Murray sat atop the Oklahoma Sooners' all-time leading scorer list. However, on Saturday night against the West Virginia Mountaineers, the Sooner great was dethroned.
Needing just 40 points to break the school record, Michael Hunnicutt set out with a single mission in mind...living up to the moniker "Moneycutt." A welcomed sight after a few questionable years of kickers, Hunnicutt brought relief to Sooner fans near and far. The crimson and cream faithful no longer held their breath and closed their eyes as the kicking team took to the field.
With a minute left in the 3rd quarter, the kicker connected on extra point attempt for point number 391. Etching his name in the record books just four games into his senior season, Hunnicutt looks to put the number out of reach for generations to come.
