Dominique Alexander was thrust into a starting role as a freshman last season when senior Corey Nelson was sidelined for the season with an injury. He responded by logging 19 tackles (1 for loss) in his first career start against Texas. He went on to be named a First-Team Freshman All American, the Big XII Defensive Freshman of the Year, and the Big XII Defensive Newcomer of the year after recording 80 total tackles.

Alexander has changed to wearing the #1 for the 2014 season.
