With the 948th overall pick the Chicago White Sox selected Oklahoma Sooner, Adam Choplick.

Choplick was originally drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks out of high school. Yet he choose to attend college at the University of Oklahoma. On the season, Choplick recorded a team high 72.1 innings of work over 15 appearance (14 starts). There is no doubt that the 6-7 lefty throws strikes as evidenced by his 76 strikeouts as a redshirt sophomore.
