The Big XII Freshman of the Year, Sheldon Nuese, has been named to the Louisville Slugger and Collegiate Baseball News Freshman All-American Team.

During his freshman campaign, Nuese batted .304 while setting a freshman school record behind seven triples. Starting all 58 games this season, the phenom saw action primarily at third base. However, Nuese was often used at shortstop and eventually found his way onto the mound as a relief pitcher.
