Freshman defensive back Steven Parker was arrested early Sunday morning on a complaint of public intoxication. He was released from the Cleveland County jail around 10:00 a.m. and then later took to Twitter to apologize.
Sorry to everybody who trusted in me.. I will bounce back from this and be somebody who is much better. Mistakes happen, but that's no excuse— Steven Parker (@Lil_Stevie21) June 22, 2014
Parker, a high school All-American from Jenks, OK., is expected to compete for playing time in Oklahoma's secondary this fall and had been the recipient of high praise from the coaching staff. While the university announced on Sunday that the matter would be handled internally you can pretty much bank on him serving a suspension for the Louisiana Tech on August 30th.
