Digging into Oklahoma Sooners Football history provided a gem for day 70 of our countdown to kickoff.
In October of 1988, Coach Barry Switzer and the wishbone offense exploded off the charts while turning in a record setting performance. On the afternoon, OU rushed for a grand total of 768 yards (a record that still stands today) to crush the Kansas St. Wildcats by a score of 70-24. The effort erased the previous record of 758 yards set in 1980 against Colorado.
