Sooners Looking To Go Back To California For WR Darian Owens

2016 WR Darian Owens could be the next pipeline recruit from California

Oklahoma's 2015 recruiting class isn't anywhere close to being set yet but that hasn't kept them from looking ahead to 2016. Clovis (Calif.) West wide receiver Darian Owens recently showed out at the Oakland Nike Football Training Camp at Chabot College and then visited with SBN's Wescott Eberts about his offer from Oklahoma.

"When coach Stoops came out, he talked to my coach and asked about my grades," Owens said, "but I feel like we have a good relationship."

With nine current players from the state of California on Oklahoma's roster, and guys like Tony Jefferson and Kenny Stills in the NFL, the Sooners can boast about the success out west and want to include Owens in that mix. He picked up an offer from USC over the weekend (and also wore a USC visor for the showcase) but had said that Oklahoma was a seven out of ten on his interest scale.

As of the weekend, his only planned visit for this summer was to Norman.
