Oklahoma freshman Sheldon Neuse was a one-man wrecking crew in the Sooners' weekend series against Cal State Bakersfield. Batting .389 for the week, Neuse lit up the Road Runners pitching staff over the weekend by going 7-of-15 from the plate with nine total RBI.
Eight of his RBI game in the first of Saturday's doubleheader when he knocked two 3-run homers, one in the seventh and again in the eighth. Neuse also crossed home plate three times himseld during the game. His slugging percentage for the week was .833 and his on base percentage was .421 during the week.
His influence in the Cal State Bakersfield wasn't limited to his presence from the plate though. Neuse took the mound in the ninth inning of Saturday's first game and produced a shutout inning.
Oklahoma has had a player awarded a weekly honor by the Big Twelve four times this season with Neuse becoming the first to player in the conference to repeat a weekly award this season.
