If you were hoping to get your first look at Blake Bell playing tight end in next Saturday's annual Red/White game, you're going to have to wait until the fall. In a developing story which was first reported by the fellas over at SoonerScoop, Oklahoma tight end Bell will miss the rest of the spring workouts after suffering a knee injury.
Bell had been one of the leading stories of Oklahoma's spring practices because of his transition from being the Sooners' most experienced returning quarterback and somewhat of a folk hero. Thrust into the limelight with the famed "Belldozer" package, Bell added to his lore by beating Notre Dame, in South Bend, last season and being the hero of the Bedlam game the last tow seasons.
Giving way to Trevor Knight at the quarterback position, Bell is set to make his mark at the tight end position in his final season as a Sooner. Fans are just going to have to wait four and a half months longer to see him now.
