Two big series this weekend helped shake up the conference standings. The combination of the Texas Longhorns getting swept by TCU and Oklahoma State sweeping Kansas give the Cowboys and Frogs the top two spots in the conference standings and dropped Texas to third.

West Virginia took two of three games from Oklahoma, in Norman to help possibly turn the tide of their season and Kansas State got a much needed series win over Baylor to put them within one game of digging out of the cellar. Reminder: The ninth place team in the conference doesn't qualify for the Big XII Tournament.

Taking their turn in the out of conference rotation, the Texas Tech Red Raiders swept Prairie View A&M, in Lubbock, to improve their season record to 32-11.

Conference Leaders

* Kansas State continues to lead the Big Twelve in team batting with a collective average of .295 on the year. Texas Tech jumped over Kansas into second, with the Jayhawks rounding out the top three.

* Texas is still the top pitching team in the conference, despite being swept over the weekend. Nathan Thornhill has a conference best 0.97 ERA and the Longhorns are throwing down a 2.13 ERA as a team.

* West Virginia's Bobby Boyd rode his hot weekend against the Sooners into the top hitting spot in the conference. His .380 average leads Oklahoma's Mac James and TCU's Boomer White. Boyd also leads the Big XII in hits with 57 on the year.

* Kansas State's Ross Kivett took over the top spot in runs scored after being tied with Oklahoma's Hunter Haley last week. Kivett has crossed home plate a Big Twelve best 40 times this season.

* Connor McKay, of Kansas, didn't go yard this week but his nine home runs on the year are still the best in the conference. He also leads the Big XII in RBI with 38 on the year.

* No one is going to catch TCU's Brandon Finnegan in strikeouts. He's fanned 95 batters this season, with an average of 12.33 punch outs per game. He also has the best record in the Big XII at 7-2.

* Baylor's Josh Michalec improved his save count to 14 this last week which is the most in the conference.
