Bedlam Baseball Game Thread | Sooners Host #20 Cowboys In Non-Conference Clash

The Sooners are set to host the Oklahoma State Cowboys in the first of two non-conference tilts before they clash for real in mid-May.

The Cowboys come to Norman having won two of their three weekend games against TCU while the Sooners took two of their three games at Kansas. Mac James continues to lead Oklahoma's line up with a .402 average. He's knocked in 22 runs and has gone yard three times. Hunter Haley leads the Sooners in RBI with 25 and home runs with 5. He's batting .349 on the year and is joined by Anthony Hermelyn (.308) to complete the trio of Sooners batting above .300 on the season.

Going up against Oklahoma's line up will be junior Tyler Nurdin who is sitting on a 1-2 record and 7.23 ERA. In five starts, and one other appearance, this season he's thrown 18.2 innings surrendering 28 hits and 17 runs while striking out twelve batters. As a team the Cowboys have an ERA of 3.23 which places them sixth in the conference.

The Sooners will counter Nurdin with Robert Tasin who owns a 2-1 record and a 3.78 ERA on the year. In nine appearances this season (only one start) Tasin has fanned 13 batters while allowing eight runs to score off 15 hits. The Sooners have the fourth best team ERA in the Big Twelve at 3.16.

Tasin will face an Oklahoma State line up that is hitting .261 on the season and is led by Zach Fish who is hitting .333 on the year. He's homered five times this season and has driven 16 runs. Gage Green joins Fish in batting over .300 for the season and has equaled Fish's 16 RBI. A speedster on the base paths, Green has twelve stolen bases in thirteen attempts. The Cowboys are 8th in the Big Twelve in team batting.

The Sooners visit Stillwater on April 15th for their second non-conference match up.
