Oklahoma Sooners Baseball Falls 3-0 To ORU

For the second week in a row the Sooners have suffered a mid-week loss to a team with a sub .500 record. The latest was a 3-0 loss to ORU in Tulsa on Tuesday night. Golden Eagles pitcher Pepe Gomez pitched a complete shutout against Oklahoma, limiting the Sooners to just five hits on the night while also striking out five Oklahoma batters. Craig Aikin, Niko Buentello, Mac James, Taylor Alspaugh, and Hector Lorenzana were the only Sooners to record hits on the night.

Robert Tasin went 3.2 innings in start for Oklahoma, allowing a single run to score off four hits. While Kindle Ladd would end up surrendering two more runs, the run that ORU scored off Oklahoma's starter in the bottom of the second would be all the offense the Golden Eagles would need.

Dean Wilson's single in the bottom of the second scored Tyler Boss for the first run of the game. The Golden Eagles added two more in the sixth to essentially put the game out of reach for an inept offensive performance by the Big Twelve's top hitting team.

The Sooners will be playing at Kansas this weekend in their second conference series of the season.
