Oklahoma's Second Junior Day a Success

Kevin C. Cox

Junior Days have become a central part to the recruiting process. The Sooners hosted a number of players on Saturday and the early feedback looks good.

The place to start is with Kahlil McKenzie. Mckenzie is an absolute must get at the DT position. He is the ideal fit for a 3-4 defense at 6'3" 316 lbs. McKenzie has offers from across the country. He was in Norman this weekend and let everyone know how his visit went via twitter.

He even took in the Sooners' basketball win over Texas

The next player is Ryan Newsome (5'9" 171lbs.) who stars for Aledo, TX and would fit nicely in at slot WR at the next level. He also took to twitter to let us in on his visit to junior day. Newsome has offers from the likes of Baylor, FSU, Notre Dame, Oregon, Texas, UCLA, and Tennessee to go along with his Sooner offer.

John Humphrey Jr. 6'0 160lbs. also made his way to Norman this weekend. Humphrey is from League City, TX and appeared to have a great time. The Sooners appear to be recruiting Humphrey, who possesses elite speed, as a WR. Along with his OU offer, he has offers from Baylor, Clemson, and Texas Tech.

His little brother even had a chance to get a taste of the Sooner program

PJ Mbanasor 6'1" 180lbs. DB from Pflugerville, TX. He is the former teammate of class of 2014 Sooner commit Samaje Perine. Mbanasor is a soft verbal to TCU, but is seriously considering the Sooners. He is a man of few words, but had this to say via twitter

Anthony Wheeler 6'2" 217lbs. LB of Dallas Skyline High School. Wheeler has offers from Bama, Baylor, Mich St, Ohio St., Texas, and Texas A&M along with his OU offer. Wheeler let everyone know about his day in Norman via twitter.

This is just a handful of the players who were in Norman over the weekend. The Oklahoma coaches rolled out the red carpet for what is shaping up to be a stellar class of 2015.
