OU has placed a premium on recruiting the state of California and the results speak for themselves. Every since the first cali trio of Brennan Clay, Tony Jefferson, and Kenny Stills to Roy Williams and Damian Mackey the Golden state has been kind to the Sooners. The Sooners had 8 California players on scholarship during the last season. OU further made recruiting California a priority for the class of 2014 secure commitments from

RB Joe Mixon 6'2 210lbs.

ATH Michian Quick 6'0 170lbs.

LB Curtis Bolton 6'2 215lbs

WR Dallis Todd 6'4 205lbs.

along with both JUCOs

LB Devante Bond 6'3 240lbs

TE Isaac Ijalana 6'5 235lbs.

It's not just that Sooners are securing commitments from players in California, but these players are playing significant roles with the team. The success ratio of the California players is really high. Imagine removing Brennan Clay and Jalen Saunders from last years team. Or Kenny Stills and Tony Jefferson from the 2013 team. Recruiting California has paid huge dividends for the Sooners. It's one of the reasons that I feel that OU would benefit even more than it already has in the state if it would have joined the PAC 12 several years ago.

Once again the Sooners have also placed a heavy emphasis on the state of California for the class of 2015 having already offered the following juniors.
