Oklahoma Sooners Football Recruiting / 5 Star Linebacker Visiting for Bedlam

Student Sports

I know it's a longshot and I refuse to get my hopes up, but the Sooners are hosting one of the top players in the class of 2015 in John Houston. Houston checks in at 6'3" 210lbs. and plays for Juniper Serra High School in Gardena, California.

Houston's offer list reads like a who's who list of college football elite. You name the school and he has an offer. Houston has seemingly settled on USC, UCLA, Oregon, and OU but its rather doubtful he will leave the west coast. In fact most have him locked into USC as his eventual destination.

Houston tweeted out his official visit to the Sooners earlier today.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Taking my fourth Official Visit to the University of Oklahoma <a href="">#OU</a> <a href="">#BoomerSooner</a> <a href="">#sooner</a></p>&mdash; John Houston (@Official_John10) <a href="">December 5, 2014</a></blockquote>

While its a longshot, you never know what can happen on a visit. I would much rather a recruit visit and not commit, then not visit at all.

Houston would give the Sooners an instant playmaker at the LB position and would help solidify the Sooners less than stellar LB recruiting for the class of 2015.

If you are wondering what type of player the Sooners could possibly land check out this highlight video of Houston in action.
