Oklahoma Sooners Football / Jordan Phillips Headed to the NFL

Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

If anyone was going to leave after this season for the NFL, it was going to be Jordan Phillips. Today he made it official as he tweeted out:

Jordan Phillips flashed his playmaking ability numerous times in his short career at OU, but the question was always his ability to stay healthy. He has been plagued with back issues that have hampered his ability to stay on the field over the past two seasons. He does however, have the ability to be an elite nose tackle at the next level provided that his back holds up. He has size (6'6" 335lbs) and the athleticism to be a force on the inside. He would make a great fit for a team such as the Patriots, Steelers, or Green Bay as each of the teams mentioned have long histories with the 3-4 defense.

Crimson and Cream Machine would like to wish Jordan Phillips nothing but the best as he transitions to the NFL. We hope that he has a long and super productive NFL career. Thank you for your time in Norman.
