Oklahoma Sooners Host Weber State Wildcats | Injury Updates, Quick Preview, & Game Thread

Stephen R. Sylvanie-USA TODAY Sports

There's no denying that Lon Kruger possesses plenty of talent on the roster. However, against talented 7-footers (Wisconsin's Frank Kaminsky & Washington's Robert Upshaw), the Oklahoma Sooners have struggled. Does that mean those games are not winnable? Not at all! After three losses on the season, the Oklahoma Sooners continue to find themselves in the top twenty-five nationally.

Sooner Injury Updates

As for the Sooners, Ryan Spangler suffered a broken nose against Washington. Potential remained for the elite rebounder to find himself on the sideline. Fortunately, Oklahoma received good news in knowing the junior forward will not require a face mask is expected to play.

As we have come to know, good news usually keeps company with bad news.

Today marks yet another occasion as Frank Booker continues to rest due to back issues. Staying home while the rest of the team traveled to Las Vegas failed to cure problematic back spasms. Apparently, the program made the decision to rest Booker through Christmas as the sharp shooter will once again be absent from play.

Weber State Wildcats: Three Names To Know

WSU has not faired well in true road games. As Randy Rahe and the rest of the gang make a stop in Norman at the Lloyd Noble Center, they bring with them an 0-2 record while on the road. Coach Rahe turns to leading scorer, Jeremy Senglin hoping for a major upset.

A trio of Wildcats average in double-digits but Senglin provides a team high 14.4 points per game. The 6-2 guard not only has the ability to score but sees the court very well. Finding the open man more often than not, Senglin put up eight assists against Utah Valley. Needless to say, this guard provides a spark and the offense must run through him.

To stretch the floor, Richaud Gittens enters the scene. A sharp shooter in his own right, Gittens has connected on 50% of his attempts from three point land. The sophomore is coming off a career high 21 points after gaining confidence in his shot and is looking to continue the shooting prowess against a top opponent.

Complimenting the play on the outside, Joel Bolomboy provides the productivity on the inside. An active rebounder, Bolomboy averages a double double by pulling down 10 rebounds per contest in addition to the 13.8 points per outing.
