As of today the Sooners sit at 17 commitments. Last week was a great week with the additions of Ricky DeBerry and Kahlil Haughton. They also lost longtime commit Tyrell Jacobs. With national signing day just over a month away (February 4th) there is still lots of recruits that will fill out the rest of the class.

It's also Christmas time and everyone has a Christmas list full of gifts and presents that they hope to receive. With that being said, I thought I would look at prospects that should be at the top of every Sooners Christmas list.

1. Arthur McGinnis @amg_arthur

arthur mcginnis

Arthur McGinnis is from New Orleans, LA and checks in at 6'2" 225lbs. McGinnis recently released his top schools and OU made the list.

Out of this list, I see A&M as the primary competition for the Sooners. Arthur has yet to visit the Sooners because of high school football playoffs but will be taking his official visit to OU in January. McGinnis is number 1 on this list because of the glaring need of Linebackers in the class.

2. Neville Gallimore @Path2Greatwork

Neville Gallimore

Neville Gallimore checks in at 6'3" 300lbs. and is seemingly down to Ohio State and the Sooners. He has offers from coast to coast. The Canadian could add an elite difference maker to the Sooners DL

3. Josh Wariboko @JoshuaJ45

Wariboko

Josh has had an interesting recruitment to say the least. He recently released a top 3 of OU, UCLA, and Ohio State. This is a Bruin-Sooner battle. At one time the Sooners were seen as a longshot, but now many think they are in the drivers seat.

4. Anthony Wheeler @SOS_Wheeler40

Anthony Wheeler

Anthony Wheeler checks in at 6'2" 220lbs and plays MLB for Skyline High School in Dallas, TX. Wheeler appears to be down to the Longhorns and Sooners with most believing the Sooners are leading. Adding him to Ricky DeBerry and a player like Arthur McGinnis would go a long ways to quelling the uneasiness about LB recruiting.

5. Gabriel Campbell @Gabecatcampell

Gabriel Campbell checks in at 6'6" 250lbs. and stars at DE for Yazoo City High School in Yazoo City, MS. He is down to the Sooners and both Mississippi schools.

6. Darrion Daniels @DarrionGolden79

Darrion is a star for Bishop Dunne Highschool in Dallas Tx. Checking in at 6'4" 285lbs. he anchors the DL. He would be a phenomenal addition to the Sooners DL. Look for this to be a Baylor/OU battle with a slight chance of TTech.

7. Ryan Newsome @NewBoi17

Ryan Newsome

The Aledo, TX WR is a matchup nightmare. If any player would be a Ryan Broyles/Mark Clayton/Jalen Saunders clone it would be Newsome. While slight in size 5'9 175lbs. Newsome has the ability to give defenses fits with his playmaking ability. The question for the Sooners is will the stay in the race. OU is in a group of potential schools that include Ole Miss, UCLA, and Texas.

8. Nate Dalton @CammNewtonJr

Nate Dalton has seen his recruitment take off over the past few months. Nate checks in at 6'3" 175lbs. and is being recruited at DB. Dalton seems to be down to OU, Kentucky, and Arkansas.

9. DaiShon Neal @DaiShonNeal90

daishon neal

DaiShon has a huge frame. Checking in at 6'7" 250lbs. DaiShon has the frame to develop into a terror at DE. He is currently committed to Nebraska, but with the recent coaching changes his commitment is not too strong. He was recently offered by OU and Oregon.

10. Jalin Barnett @jbird_77

This is an interesting recruitment. Barnett was assumed to be the biggest of OU locks. Arkansas made a huge push and no things have gone quite. Barnett recently took a visit to Nebraska. Barnett starred on the OL for Lawton High school. He checks in at 6'3" 300lbs.

11. Kareem Orr @ReemKnows1

Kareem Orr checks in at 5'10" 190lbs. and stars at CB for Notre Dame High School in Chattanooga, TN. Kareem Orr visited the Sooners back in December. His future visits to Clemson and Arizona St. will go a long ways to knowing where the Sooners stand.

12. Fotu Leiato

Fotu's highlight tape was an internet sensation. The S/LB prospect checks in at 6'0" 195lbs. Fotu has seen has recruitment take off and he has just recently picked up offers from UCLA and OU. Fotu's interest will be seen if he takes a visit to the Sooners.

13. Du'Vonta Lampkin @DeeChilllin

Lampkin

Du'Vonta was a former Sooner commit, who then decommitted and ended up at Texas. He is good friends with Sooner DB offer Nate Dalton (they play on same high school team). He visited the Sooners with Dalton and there is a decent chance he ends up a Sooner.

14. Justin Reid @justinreid_1

Justin appeared to be a heavy Sooner lean. That was until LSU offered. He is the younger brother of former LSU star and current 49er Eric Reid. While the Sooners still have a fighting chance, he appears to be all but locked into LSU.

15. John Houston @Official_John10

John Houston

John Houston (LB) recently released his top 5 schools and the Sooners made the cut. However he is all but locked into USC.

16. Anthony McKee @_xHeSuperSolo

The 6'2" 195lb. linebacker out of Columbus, Ohio appears to be down to Michigan St. and the Sooners. The question with McKee is how does he fit into the Sooner plans going forward. His recruitment has been very quiet as of late.

17. Josh Smith @J_Smitty31

Josh Smith

Josh Smith is a big time linebacker who possess great size. 6'3" 220lbs. He is currently a Vanderbilt commitment, but will be visiting OU and Kentucky over the next month. Could this be a Stoops vs. Stoops battle?

There will inevitably be additional offers and others who join this list. The Sooners sit at 17 commitments and look to add 9-10 additional players from this class. Out of these 17 listed I would choose these players to complete the class of 2015.

1. Josh Wariboko

2. Arthur McGinnis

3. Anthony Wheeler

4. Nate Dalton

5. Gabriel Campbell

6. Neville Gallimore

7. Du'Vonta Lampkin

8. Josh Smith/McKee

9. Jalin Barnett (though I'm not confident, but I think the strangeness of his recruitment will be straightened out over the next few weeks)
