When you think of a prototypical cornerback recruit for size, speed, and ability to play the position, you would find yourselves thinking of Iman Marshall. He has the size (6'1") and speed (4.4) along with the ability to shut down elite WRs. It's not a stretch to say that if he were a freshman in Norman he would find himself already on the field opposite of Zach Sanchez.
Iman has schedule his first official visit this weekend and it will be in Norman to take in Bedlam. Iman has offers from across the country (Bama, Penn St., FSU, A&M, USC, UCLA, Ole Miss, LSU, and pretty much every other elite team to go along with his Sooner offer). Iman plays for perennial California powerhouse Long Beach Poly High School.
Erik McKinney of Espn.com confirmed the visit via twitter.
Per his father, No. 7 overall prospect Iman Marshall will take an official visit to Oklahoma this weekend (Dec. 5). 1st visit for 5-star CB— Erik McKinney (@EMcKinneyESPN) December 2, 2014
McKinney will likely be joined by his cornerback partner and teammate Colin Samuel, but this is not confirmed as of yet.
While the smart money is on Marshall to stay out west, should Samuel find himself a Sooner, I could legitimately see Marshall joining him at the next level. Regardless it's fantastic to get elite talent on campus.
