I want to apologize for not being on the board as much over the past few days. I had the opportunity to spend some time with family on a short mini vacation and took advantage of that. This has already been a real busy recruiting week for the Sooners and it will only get even more busy as we get closer to National Signing Day. Here is a quick recap of the of what's taken place over the last few days.

1. The Sooners Missed Out on Star Linebacker Darrin Kirkland Junior.

Kirkland was at one time a Michigan commit, who decided to re-open his recruitment with all the coaching turmoil at Michigan. Kirkland visited the Sooners for the Baylor game, but ultimately chose to commit to Tennessee.

2. Big Time Linebacker Ricky DeBerry will make his commitment on Friday December 19th. DeBerry tweeted out his top schools earlier today

Most see this as a Sooner/Buckeye battle. The Sooners have every reason to feel really confident on this one.

3. JUCO Safety Ezekiel Turner Committed to Washington over the Sooners.

4. OU offered 2 New safeties

Jameson Houston who is a current Baylor commitment

Fotu Leiato

If you are wondering about Fotu, his film became an internet sensation. The Washington State SBnation website has a great article talking about Fotu. (PLEASE WATCH HIS FILM, IT iS AMAZING).

These new safety offers are most likely not an indictment of where the Sooners stand with Kahlil Haughton, but are more a reflection of losing out on Turner and where they stand with Justin Reid (who just picked up an LSU offer. Reid is the younger brother of 49er safety and former LSU standout Eric Reid.
