With the Mississippi St. Bulldogs losing the Egg Bowl, the focus quickly turned to the Big XII Conference. Currently, two teams from the conference have pitched an argument as to why their program deserves to be considered over the other. The Baylor Bears claim the head-to-head matchup over the TCU Horned Frogs. On the other hand, TCU points to the weak non-conference schedule of Baylor.
As of right now the Bears still have a Top 10 opponent on their schedule...something the Horned Frogs lack. A win next weekend could push the folk from Waco into the first ever college playoff. Meanwhile, the voters have decided to leap frog TCU into the top 4 in the AP Poll.
Ultimately, the question remains: who takes over as the No. 4 once the College Football Playoff Committee announces their rankings? Championship Weekend will provide the last chance to make a statement for any hopeful. Until then, here are the current (and useless) rankings.
