Oklahoma Sooners Football | Trevor Knight Named Campbell Award & Big XII Offensive Player Of The Week

Update: Trevor Knight earned Earl Campbell Award Player of the Week Honors for the 10th week of college football on Tuesday.

For the fourth time this season, an Oklahoma Sooners has earned conference weekly honors. This go around, quarterback Trevor Knight has been named the Big XII Offensive Player of the Week after the performance against the Iowa St. Cyclones.

With the coaching staff making the decision to open the playbook in order to unleash an offense that has struggled at times, #9 raced into school history books. Behind three passing touchdowns and three rushing touchdowns, Knight joined Josh Heupel as the only quarterbacks in Oklahoma history to accomplish the feat. In conjunction, Knight also became the first FBS player to record three-and-three until Notre Dame's Everett Golson joined the party later on Saturday night against Navy.

The 146 rushing yards mark a career-high for the young Knight while the quarterback has eclipsed the 100-yard barrier three times in his career.
