Oklahoma basketball fans can rest a little easier on the eve of their 2014-15 season. News came late on Saturday night that forward TaShawn Thomas had his waver request approved by the NCAA. The Houston transfer will be immediately eligible for the Sooners and will be a much needed asset inside the paint.

A three-time All-Conference selection, Thomas started in 96 game for the Cougars from 2011 through last spring. A coaching change sent the senior to be searching for a new home and Lon Kruger, who needed a key piece to go along with his trio of talented guards, offered just the right spot for Thomas to fit in. The Sooners will immediately plug in a player who has a career scoring average of 14.5 points per game to go along with 8.7 rebounds and a 57% shooting average. Basketball just got a bit better at Oklahoma!
