Friday Locks | Duke Over Pitt And Texas Over Tech

Man, I hate the matchups this week.  Utt bugly.  Can't even come up with anything really clever to say about 'em.

Mr. Bartender, pour me a glass of APPY STATE (-12.5) over Georgia State.  Couldn't tell you why or anything about either team, just sounded like a good idea.

I'll flip a coin and take OLE' MISS (-2) over Auburn just to keep things interesting.

And sure, DUKE (+4) in the upset over Pitt, why not?

What can I tell ya, some weeks you've got it, some weeks... well....

Duke (+4.0) vs Pitt - All season long I have doubted Duke and all season long I have come up on the wrong side. Things change this week as I take the Blue Devils. However, that could spell doom for the folks in North Carolina.

Texas (0) vs Texas Tech - In a pick em, I'll take the Longhorns all day long with the defense they possess. On the other side of the field, Kliff and the Red Raiders continue to hope "smoke and mirrors" can provide a few more wins especially at home. It simply doesn't fall that way this week.

Arizona (+6.5) vs UCLA - In my humble opinion, the Wildcats are a field goal better than their opponent this weekend. Give me Arizona and the points as they head to sunny California.

Donnie

Baylor over Kansas (+35.5) 35-17. Kansas is a different team post Charlie Weis. The game will not be in doubt, but the Bears will not cover. 

Kansas State (-12.5) over Oklahoma State 31-10. Suddenly Gundy and the Cowboys are incapable of scoring points. I don't see that trend getting any better, as the Wildcats are the most fundamentally sound and prepared team in the nation. Bill Snyder is probably the best coach in college football. 

Arizona State (-5) over Utah 34-21. Utah has had a great and unexpected season to date, but I don't see anyway they win in Tempe. The outcome might be different if this were a home game for the Utes, but I have the Sun Devils winning pretty easily.

Duke (+4) at Pitt - I'm fully on board with St. Sooner and Rich on this game. I think the wrong team is favored here and it has nothing to do with Pitt's disastrous start against Georgia Tech last week. Well...ok...maybe it has a little to do with that.

Wisconsin (0) at Rutgers - Nothing says free points like an even line. I don't understand how it is so, but I'll take it.

Texas (0) at Texas Tech - See the above note for Wisconsin and Rutgers.
