A 6-4/214 receiver from San Antonio, Texas, Cavil was a four-star recruit by ESPN and three-star by Rivals. He had offers from Cal, Texas, Baylor, Clemson, Mississippi State and South Carolina but chose to play for the Sooners.
Cavil arrived as an early enrollee in January of 2013 and despite being on campus and in the program for a longer period of time he has been unable to get on the field ahead of true freshmen Michiah Quick or Jeffery Mead. K.J. Young (a member of Cavil's recruiting class) has also made the field for some significant snaps this season ahead of Cavil.
Obviously you never like to see a kid transfer out, especially one with a lot of potential, but we certainly understand his position. Kids come to play football and not just be on the team. Best of luck where ever he ends up.
