"I think it's one of the most challenging schedules we've had here. It's important to win on the road and it will be challenging, but this schedule will really allow us to be a tougher more well balanced team." -OU Baseball Coach Pete Hughes

Oklahoma's 2015 baseball season is still months away but, if you're a fan of the game, you can't help being excited about the schedule they released on Tuesday. The Sooners will face off against some pretty big names, beginning with Norte Dame in the season opener, as Pete Hughes enters his second year as OU's skipper.

"Our strength of schedule is going to be improved upon with the intent of improving our postseason resume," Hughes said. "Anytime you want to host a Regional, you have to put yourself in a position to do so. We've put ourselves in that position."

There's no questioning the quality of Oklahoma's schedule. The Sooners start off with a run of ten games in ten days. Beginning on Friday February 13th Oklahoma will host both Notre Dame and Southern Illinois,  Evansville in a series that will see the Sooners play the Irish three times during the weekend and Southern Illinois twice.

Immediately after that OU will head west to Arizona for the Pac 12/Big 12 Challenge where they'll face Arizona State (Not a part of the Pack 12/Big 12 Challenge), Washington State, Washington, Oregon State, and Utah from February 18-22.

The Sun Devils were an NCAA Tournament team last season as were the Huskies and Beavers. In fact, Oregon State was the top overall seed in the tournament last summer. We'll know really quickly into Hughes second season what his team is made of.

"I think it's one of the most challenging schedules we've had here," Hughes said. It's important to win on the road and it will be challenging, but this schedule will really allow us to be a tougher more well balanced team."

During the month of March the Sooners will travel to Honolulu for a four game series against Hawaii the 12-15. Not a bad way to spend spring break.
