In the final days of his recruitment process, shooting guard Christian James narrowed the field to a mere three schools.

"For U of (Houston), it was a school I grew up around," he told The Oregonian. "It's close to home and I love the coaches. (Oklahoma), the people there are great and the coaching staff, of course. I love the way they play. Oregon, I would say, has always been my dream school, but I haven't actually been there yet."

Speaking very highly of each of those making the final cut, the Houston product chose the Oklahoma Sooners less than a week after the visit during the Oklahoma-Kansas St. football game. Regardless of the outcome on the gridiron, the basketball program continues reaping the recruiting benefits of a having a premier football team on campus.

"The atmosphere and the people there are just so genuine." James proclaimed of Oklahoma following the visit. "It's kind of crazy. The coaching staff, I love the way they coach their players. They are always positive, never negative. It's a lot of things."

The No. 138 prospect in the nation according to Rivals, the shooting guard held offers from Creighton, Oklahoma St., LSU, Maryland, Houston, Oregon, and Wake Forest just to name a few. After missiing out on home state product, Owasso's Shake Milton, the addition is welcomed by the coaching staff and fans.
