Despite Offensive Struggles Sooners Climb In The Polls

Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Baylor are all on the move this week with TCU holding steady and Texas dropping completely from the polls.

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

Well it appears that all of the preseason hype surrounding the 2013 Texas Longhorns was nothing more than hot air. A day after literally getting run out of Provo, Utah, the Longhorns have completely dropped from both Top 25 polls.

The Sooners moved up two spots in each poll with their highest ranking coming in at #13 in the Coaches Poll. Oklahoma State and Baylor also were on the move, with the Bears making their first appearance in the Coaches Poll. The biggest jump for a Big Twelve school was O-State who moved up three spots to #11 in the Coaches Poll.

Oklahoma plays their third consecutive home game this coming Saturday when the host the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. They'll have the next week off before traveling to South Bend to take on the Irish.

While the Oklahoma defense has been spectacularly impressive through the first two games of the season the offense has been about as painful as getting a tooth pulled. However, even with the struggles of a young quarterback the Sooners are still moving in the right direction in the polls.
