Bell is the second consecutive Sooner football player to earn weekly honors from the Big Twelve

The week after safety Gabe Lynn was named as the Big Twelve's Defensive Player of the Week, Blake Bell followed by being named the Offensive Player of the Week.

Bell surpassed Sam Bradford's record, that was set in 2007, for the most passing yards by a Sooner quarterback making his debut. After playing the backup role for the last two weeks, Bell passed for 413 yards and four touchdowns while also running for 24 yards.
